In this video I show a step by step of how to bypass a metal hose that runs under the throttle body and becomes clogged due to lack of car maintenance. This video shows how someone maybe able to unclog the metal hose that is blocking coolant from flowing if the issue is not as severe as the one shown. This is something relatively easy and very inexpensive to perform whether or not there is a visible coolant leak and the engine is overheating. I would highly suggest following along with the steps shown in this video if you are throwing your hands up out of frustration while attempting to address the overheating issue. I have seen many videos on the coolant system for this vehicle from changing the thermostat, water pump, coolant hoses, radiators, cooling fans and replacing the overflow tank for Cadillac deville however no one has posted a video of this particular issue. I decided it may be helpful to others looking to DIY mechanic how to there Caddy. The Northstar motor is installed on this vehicle so this should help for those with that same north star engine. This was a job I did for my niece as she had purchased her first car and it is a white on black 1996 Cadillac Deville. There is a special tool used to remove the water pump on this vehicle and can be purchased at a local automotive store. The store may have an option to rent the tool as well.
